Tanzania and the US sign an investment agreement worth 11.7 trillion shillings

 


Tanzania and the United States signed seven agreements on business projects to be implemented in Tanzania by American investors and companies on Friday, April 22.
The signing ceremony of the
Agreement
 was attended by President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United States during a two-week official visit.

According to a statement released by the Office of Presidential Communications, deals with major private sector companies totaled $5.04 billion (Shilling 11.3 trillion) and is expected to create around 301,110 jobs in agriculture, tourism and commerce . and other economic sectors.

"President Samia witnessed in Washington DC a memorandum of understanding, letters of intent and announcements to initiate negotiations on investment, trade and business relations between American companies and Tanzania." Read part of the statement.
The
Statement further adds: Other projects aim to maximize activity along the value chain within the tourism industry in northern regions or Tanzania by promoting promotions, services, diversification or upgrading tourism products.
