Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Company (Fosun Pharma) from China has signed an agreement to purchase 100 million doses of corona vaccine (Covid-19) produced by German biotechnology company BioNTech founded by Turkish scientist Prof. Dr. Uğur Şahin for cooperation.
In a joint statement issued by the companies, it was reported that an agreement was signed for the purchase of China's first 100 million doses of a vaccine called BNT162, produced by mRNA technology against Covid-19.
The information provided also reminded that Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Company and BioNTech had announced a plan to cooperate with China in the development and testing of clinical trials and sales of the German vaccine "BNT162" in March, to support the distribution process.
On November 24, the companies also announced the launch of a phase 2 clinical trial in China for a vaccine developed against Covid-19.
