A French court has convicted 14 people of involvement in the Charlie Hebdo attack



A court in France has sentenced 14 people to life imprisonment for up to 4 years in prison in connection with the 2015 terrorist attack of Charle Hebdo.

Ali Riza Polat, a 14-year-old man of French and Turkish descent, has been found guilty of plotting to assassinate and inciting crime. The terrorist intent, along with other charges, has also been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Polat, who has always denied the allegations, was heard during the sentencing hearing out loud that the allegations were false. But all of those involved in the charges were involved in providing aid to criminals by providing them with assistance or equipment such as a vehicle. In the same verdict, the court was able to dismiss a number of charges against the clients that were filed by prosecutors.

Three suspects are convicted in absentia

The verdict also applies to three suspects who allegedly fled to the jurisdiction of the Islamic State Group in the country.

Syria, just moments after the Paris massacre, in which 17 people lost their lives.

According to investigators in France there are feelings of two of the three brothers Mohammed and Mehdi Belhoucine dead although Mohammed was sentenced to life in prison. Richard Malka, a lawyer representing Charlie Hebdo magazine, "Interestingly, the message has been delivered to the community and this message is that anyone who helps terrorists in one way or another is at risk of serious punishment."

In view of the verdict, France International radio station quoted the judge, Judge Regis de Jorna, as saying:

Yet many of them have failed to avoid charges of involvement in the illicit trade in weapons and drugs. Polat is said to be the closest person to the murderer Amedy Coulibaly, who shot and killed him and shot dead police officers and later killed four suspected hostages in a supermarket after an attack on the Charlie Hebdo magazine which at the time came under fire publishing cartoons mocking the apostle Mohammed.

However, Coulibaly was killed by police who raided and attacked a grocery store which was believed to be involved in the 2015 tragedy.
