Investors from Turkey have arrived in Tanzania to explore the investment and business opportunities available in the country so that they can invest and promote Economic Diplomacy between the two countries.
The Ambassador of Tanzania to Turkey, Hon. Prof. Elizabeth Kiondo confirmed the arrival of the investors during the launch of the Turkish Institute of Compass Partners today in Dar es Salaam, adding that five out of ten investors have arrived in the country and joined other Turks doing business in the country.
"These investors from Turkey have come and opened their own institution known as" Compass Partners "to develop business and we believe by implementing this business we are going to develop the Tanzanian economy and create jobs for Tanzanians," said Prof. Kiondo
Prof. Kiondo added that, the first step these investors have brought various products for Tanzanians to see, the second step will be the investment of a factory in the country to start production of products that will be sold in the country.
In addition, in terms of products produced in the country that have the opportunity to be sold in Turkey include tea, cotton, tobacco and coffee all these products have a very large market in Turkey.
We produce 350,000 tonnes of cotton but we can only process 15%, so we have already found an investor who will invest in a textile factory in simiyu to increase the value of cotton products in the country.
Ambassador, Prof. Kiondo called on Tanzanians to start embracing these business opportunities so that they can increase their income and increase their business.
For his part, the Acting Ambassador of Turkey in the Country, Hon. Onur Yah said that trade between Tanzania and Turkey has been steadily improving as Tanzania is a safe place to invest and do business.
"Through investment in various sectors it is my belief that we will continue to promote and strengthen our diplomatic relations," said Hon. Yah
In addition, he urged Turks and Tanzanians to take advantage of the trade opportunities available between the two countries in order to do business and grow their economy.
Tanzania-Turkey cooperation is long-term, among other things the relationship has been more focused on promoting industrial investment, education and tourism especially in promoting Tanzania's tourist attractions in Turkey.
