The Somali government has severed diplomatic ties with neighboring Kenya.
The country has called home all its diplomats from Nairobi and given Kenyan diplomats seven days to leave the country.
The announcement was made by Information Minister Osman Abukar Dubbe in the national media.
"The Somali government, in accordance with its independence guaranteed by international law, is acting in accordance with the constitution to protect nationalism, unity and prosperity and has decided to sever its diplomatic relations with the Kenyan government," he said.
The move comes after Somalia submitted a letter of complaint against Kenya to Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, who is also chair of the East African Development Community (IGAD).
Somalia recently accused Kenya of meddling in their affairs.
